Black women deserve beauty experiences that don’t compromise our health, identity, or confidence. Yet, we continue to face harmful beauty standards, toxic ingredients, and hair discrimination that limit our freedom to exist as we are.

At ADIINE, we are committed to challenging these barriers through clean products, representation, and advocacy—creating a safer space where Black women can live unapologetically.

advocating for

safer beauty standards for Black women

The Issue: Beauty products marketed to Black women often contain some of the most hazardous chemicals in cosmetics, including toxins linked to serious health risks. This disproportionate exposure contributes to increased cases of hormone-related illnesses, reproductive issues, and other life-threatening conditions among Black women.

Our Role: ADIINE prioritizes the health and safety of Black women by creating clean, toxin-free products. Through education and advocacy, we raise awareness about these health disparities and push for transparency in the beauty industry—being the change we want to see.

challenging

underrepresentation in the beauty industry

The Issue: Despite Black women spending over $7.5 billion annually on beauty products—nine times more on haircare than the average consumer—products designed for kinky/coily hair remain scarce. This lack of representation reinforces toxic Eurocentric beauty standards and diminishes the visibility of our natural textures.

Our Role: ADIINE fills this gap by offering products that celebrate and enhance the haircare experience for Black women with kinky/coily hair—honoring its significance in our identity and self-expression.

fighting against

systemic barriers faced in society

The Issue: Black women are 80% more likely than white women to feel pressured to change their natural hair to meet workplace norms, often facing outright discrimination based on their hairstyles. With hair discrimination still legal in many states, Black women continue to encounter barriers in education and employment simply for wearing their natural hair.

Our Role: ADIINE advocates for legislation like the CROWN Act to help end race-based hair discrimination. Through awareness campaigns and community initiatives, we work to ensure that Black women can wear their natural hair confidently—without fear of bias, judgment, or exclusion.
